　　“Sangen Om Den Eldröda Blomman” ( “Song Of The Scarlet Flower” ) was a recent and remarkable silent surprise for this Herr Von; the oeuvre is an excellent Herr Stiller silent film that this German count watched in a newly restored and tinted copy. It combines the well-known aesthetics, technical improvements and artistic merits for which the Nordic director was known and praised since those early silent times till today.　　The film tells of the merry and carefree love life of young Olof ( Herr Lars Hanson ) a woodsman who during his search for true love, seduces many frauleins ( just like this German aristocrat… well, not exactly because the purpose of this Herr Von’s seduction of rich fräulein heiresses are their great fortunes… ). He will suffer disappointment and deception, all those problems that turn up in any loving relationship. Finally he will find responsibility and maturity, learning during his particular quest that his actions always have consequences in different degrees to the people around him. This Herr Von can describe “Sangen Om…” as a kind of coming of age film, the special introspective growth toward maturity of a free and easy youngster.　　As this German count said before, the film displays Stiller’s characteristic artistic virtues. ; in the first part of the film, we can see elements of comedy, not exactly like the comedy of intrigues in other Stiller films, but humor of a more cheerful sort, highlighting the self-involvement of our hero. Olof ‘s frivolous flirtations with the different girls eventually turn romantic and then turn into drama. There is conflict in the troubled relationship between Olof and his father and later with the father of his beloved. The beautiful and wild natural landscapes of Norrland and northern Sweden lend the tale a certain power and is characteristic of Herr Stiller’s other silents where Nature emerges as an important character in the story. This is strongly reflected throughout the film but especially during the frantic scene wherein Olof descends into the troubled waters of a river, a beautiful metaphor for the hardships that our hero has to endure until he finds himself.　　“Sangen Om Den Eldröda Blomman” is an excellent, beautiful film, a solid, technically perfect and intricate production of 1919 that demonstrates once again the importance of Herr Stiller for silent film history.

　　五个年轻人巴比、麦克、小桃、朱丽和玛格趁着假期开着小船出海游玩，却因为大意而被搁浅在海上，屋漏偏逢连夜雨的他们又遇上暴风雨，在大雨倾盆的情况下，他们找到了一艘并没有人的豪华游艇，以为找到了桃花源，在里面饮酒作乐，没想到可怕的危险就隐藏在这座豪华游艇里。游艇好像是一个大的实验室，里面有奇奇怪怪的远古鱼类化石。巴比看到实验台上的白色粉末，尝了一下，以为是毒品。而后，玛格被会飞的鱼咬伤，他们才意识到问题的严重。麦克仔细研究了电脑里的资料，发现原来这些鱼都是吃了受污染的浮游生物后发生了异变。可此时已经为时已晚，除了麦克其余四人都被感染。游艇即将爆炸，这些怪物也即将被消灭，只有麦克跳海逃出。谁知怪物并没有死，麦克也没有逃生。

　　Two art thieves have stolen the famous Black Square of Russian painter Kasimir Malevich. They plan to meet their clients on a cruise ship to hand over the looted art. However, things are not going quite as planned..

In the end, Poil de Carotte's suffering becomes more than he can bear...　　Review　　Drawing heavily on the poignant novel by Jules Renard on which it is based, Poil de carotte is a modest yet appealing film which has stood the test of time mainly because of the quality of its acting performances and its inherent humanity. It is more memorable than Julien Duvivier's earlier silent version of 1925, also named Poil de Carotte.　　The part of Poil de Carotte was played by 11 year old Robert Lynen, who was alleged to have been discovered whilst walking down the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Lynen is totally captivating and the film made him an instant star, launching what looked like becoming a very promising film career – until he was shot dead whilst fighting against the Germans in 1944.  Harry Baur, a legendary stage and film actor (who also died during World War II, allegedly at the hands of the Gestapo), also turns in a typically fine performance.  The reconciliation between father and son at the end of the film provides its most enduring image, enough to melt the heart of all but the most stoical of spectators.

She's confined to life indoors in the company of her strict grandfather, Dorje. Chuskit continues to harbor hopes of school but Dorje tries to make her understand that school can't handle her needs. As life at home gets harder, her battle with her grandfather exacerbates. Caught in between their struggle are Chuskit's parents and her enterprising brother who want to respect the old world views that Dorje represents, but also want to keep Chuskit's spirit alive. Chuskit will have to get her grandfather to yield or she will have to accept the reality he has chosen for her.

He becomes obsessed to find whether she really committed suicide and to guess what really happened. When Enrico's son Mario and his wife Adriana arrive at the hotel, Bernard has daydreams about the fate of Tilde.

　　Roberto, a drummer in a rock band, keeps receiving weird phone calls and being followed by a mysterious man. One night he manages to catch up with his persecutor and tries to get him to talk but in the ensuing struggle he accidentally stabs him. He runs away, but he understands his troubles have just begun when the following day he receives an envelope with photos of him killing the man. Someone is killing all his friends and trying to frame him for the murders...

In a big city somewhere in the south of Europe, a couple takes care of dead animals and abandoned roadkill as an act to give meaning to their life. Kala azar is a  meditation on the paradox of life-circles among beings of different species. A film about existence, on the boundaries between living and dead, human and non-human.

　　In the early '90s, the Yugoslavian Government cancelled the autonomy of Kosovo, dissolved its Parliament and closed down the National Television. All institutional life was reorganized by the new authorities, while the majority of the citizens responded with peaceful demonstrations. During this terrible time, Fadili, who works as an archivist, has to choose between two options, knowing that both of them are wrong. He therefore involuntarily and unwillingly swallows the shame, endures the pressure bearing down from all sides and puts up with the bad reputation for only one reason to provide for his family.

　　Set at the turn of the century, the story concerns a Polish poet living in Cracow who has decided to marry a peasant girl. The wedding is attended by a heterogenous group of people from all strata of Polish society, who dance, get drunk and lament Poland's 100-year-long division of Poland under Russia, Prussia, and Austria. The bridegroom, a painter friend, and a journalist each in turn is confronted with spectres of Polish past. In the end a call to arms is called but turns out to be a hoax.

　　For Kevin, a shy teenager, being bullied is part of everyday life. But one day an older guy, Benny, comes to his aid. Impressed by Benny's self-as-sured appearance, Kevin seeks his company from then on, and increasingly idolizes him. But Benny's intention is not to protect the younger boy, quite the contrary.

　　《海墘新路》是2017年马来西亚电影，由苏忠兴自编自导，是一部关于其家庭的半传记电影。电影以1970年代的槟城（马来西亚北部华裔人口为多的繁华岛屿）为背景，是马来西亚首部电影全片只使用槟城福建话。片名《海墘新路》是槟城当地人對乔治市（槟城市中心）Victoria Street的称呼，福建话为Hai Kin Xin Lor。　　经年未有回到家乡槟城的Sunny（李洺中 饰）终于这一个农历新年回乡见一见姐姐阿云（杨雁雁 饰）、两位姑姑以及旧同学。身为导演的Sunny一直都是家人引以为傲的存在，认为他事业有成、生活美满。　　然而Sunny怀着的却是无法向他人道出的困顿，在现实与理想之间拉扯与挣扎，如今更为了开拍一部对他而言非常重要的电影而花光了经费。电影关于Sunny的孩提时代和家庭故事，其中包括一个不可告人、令Sunny蒙上巨大阴影至今的事故悲剧，他对母亲感到无法理解，对精神病患胞兄更是有着莫大的怨怼。　　面对着经费不继、外界的眼光以及自揭内心阴影与家庭疮疤的压力，Sunny凭着内心使命式的呼唤，咬着牙根撑了下去。这部电影是对母亲为家庭诸多牺牲的一种缅怀，更是一场必须完成救赎之旅……。

　　Though Delluc's career was short-lived, it burst vigorously(7 films in 4 years)that it forever left its imprint on french cinema history, and they rightly honoured him by giving the annual Prix Delluc to the best French film of the year. He was responsible for the creation of influential cinema  journals like Le Journal du Ciné-Club and Cinéa, founding numerous film societies, writing countless articles and coining the term cineaste. Delluc believed that films should be set in the natural without elaborate posturing, and characters should be portrayed in an intimate way where the past and present, illusion and reality can be correlated, all considered to be avant-garde at its time. He died only a few weeks after the shooting of The Flood at the age of 33.
