　　This film took the top honor at the 1969 Berlin Film Festival. After a series of documentaries, this marks the directorial debut for Zelimir Zilnik. It takes a decidedly anti-Stalinist view in the wake of the 1968 Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia and raises important political questions. He states that although the world has experienced untold wars, there have only been a handful of revolutions with any lasting significance that lead to political change.

He not only brings electric light (which is often out) to the lives of the inhabitants of this small city, but he also spreads the light of love, loyalty, life and mainly laughter.

　　Umberto Lenzi is undoubtedly the king of Italian crime movies, but unfortunately; Syndicate Sadists is not the best examples of his work in this genre. Lenzi's crime flicks tend to be a cut above the rest because he makes films based on stories with a point, and they don't lack direction; but this film feels a bit too wayward to fully fit with the rest of his stuff. The film takes obvious influence from Sergio Leone's landmark western 'A Fistful of Dollars' (which in turn, took influence from Akira Kurosawa's landmark samurai flick Yojimbo), in that it features two warring families and a strong character at the centre. The crime that Lenzi focuses on is kidnapping, and we centre on a character called 'Rambo'. Rambo is dragged into the war between the two families after his brother is killed because of it. Rambo uses his brains and brawn to pit the two families against one another, in the hope of gaining revenge for his brother's death, rescuing a young boy that they've kidnapped, and ultimately letting the two sides destroy one another.　　The film's biggest asset is undoubtedly Tomas Milian. Milian was put to great use by Lenzi in almost all of his crime thrillers. The range of characters he has played for Lenzi is immense, and this one is easily one of the coolest. The character is called Rambo, which immediately sprang to mind the popular Sylvester Stallone character - but for once, the Italians actually haven't stolen this name as Syndicate Sadists was released first! As usual, the film is wickedly entertaining, as we get to watch Milian get himself involved in the usual array of car chases, shootouts and brawls. Lenzi has got him riding a motorbike this time round, and every scene featuring it and Milian is a real standout! However, the film often feels like it doesn't really have anywhere to go, and this means that the running time is stretched out more than it should be. Compared to the crime films of other Italian directors, Syndicate Sadists is more than above average; but in relation to Lenzi crime flicks such as Almost Human and The Cynic, The Rat and The Fist - it doesn't stand tall as one of Lenzi's best. Still, if you're looking for ninety minutes of testosterone fuelled mayhem - Syndicate Sadists will suffice!

Through its depiction of the paranoid Hungarian communist regime, it reflects on our present, where surveillance is a global concern.

Cho đến khi người bạn thứ hai - Ngọc - cũng mất tích khi đang livestream trong chính cái thang máy của khu bệnh viện cũ kỹ.

　　在新几那亚有一个岛上，因为化学工厂实验的关係，造成厂内死老鼠复活，并在咬伤工作人员后，造成该实验大楼变成僵尸横行。4个SWAT队员，集体到新几内亚调查案发经过，到一个小镇后，碰到一群採访事故原因的记者，结果他们当中，有一个小孩被殭尸咬了一口，小孩在车上躺在他父亲怀裡休息时，有人开车门发现，小孩已变成僵尸，正在吃他父亲内臟；在教堂内，也发现神父已变僵尸；他们到达当地土著部落时，也发生僵尸吃土著的事件。经过一连串的逃命后，最后他们来到那栋实验大楼，终于发现是实验事故毒气外洩结果导造成僵尸，最后当然是包括男女主角在内都未能倖免于难。 本片导演Bruno Mattei在幕后花絮中说，本片参杂了《Dawn of the Dead》的一些影子，比方殭尸出现时总是一大群，还有要打头才会死。场景主要是在丛林与部落跟工厂。本片中一开头即说明造成殭尸的原因。另外本片虽然场景是在新几内亚，但一看就知道部份是合成的。应该是在欧洲拍摄的。还有这位导演原来还导了Rats(1984)以及参与Zombi3约40%的制作。本片血腥度十足，虽然现在看起来会觉得有点假，但在现在看时还是会觉得十分过癮。喜欢殭尸片又带点腥膻色的人，可以考虑一看。 ======================================================== 一场意外发生于位在新几内亚丛林裡的一座化学工厂，外洩的化学毒物导致死尸复活，复活的死尸群起攻击丛林裡的原始部落居民。一组记者巧遇另一组武装特勤部队，两队人马在丛林中与遭遇部落民族，并于设法于僵尸群中逃出生路。 超恶搞的片子，列举数个恶搞例子： 制作群不知从何搞来近似国家地理频道纪录片片段，新几内亚丛林裡的野生动物与原始部落生活就这麼活生生又突兀地剪辑入这部殭尸电影。一群特勤人员其实只是开著吉普车在西班牙乡间小径游荡，只因剪接许多野生动物纪录片入戏，感觉好像身处新几内亚丛林。不过，其实剪接得挺粗糙地。 整组人马路过一丛林部落，女主角一脸正经得跳出来说：”部落民族生性危险而不可测，姐姐有经验，要安全通过只有一个方法，我必须走在前面，单独地在前面…”。接著，冷不防，他就毫不迟疑的脱下上衣，露出美丽双峰。又接著，看到姐姐脸画成土著迷彩，只穿著树叶比基尼，又走又跳地引领整组人马通过部落。从没看过如此彻底的为脱而脱，真是够无厘头。 某特勤队员在一丛林小屋中穿起芭雷舞衣，跳了一段模仿Gene Kelly的Singing in the Rain，接著旋即变成殭尸攻击的受害者。 号称是史上大滥片之一。完成拍摄只费时5週。 其实： 是不错看的电影，该有的殭尸电影元素全具备，举凡：殭尸小孩啃老爸，殭尸群分食受害人，受害伙伴回生加害同行伙伴，欲消灭殭尸必击毁头部…等等，一应俱全。 最血腥的一段昰： 女主角受害时，特写全在脸上，舌头先被殭尸群拔出，接著手在嘴裡往上猛掏，掏得两颗眼珠爆出，够血腥。 后记： 名人导演Quentin Tarantino 在某处发表欣赏此片的谈话，重新引发世人对此陈年旧片的注意。而此片导演Bruno Mattei，自己承认已有多年未再看过这电影，只得重新翻出片子再次恢复记忆，才能体会为何昆汀塔伦提诺会喜爱此片。 此片导演Bruno Mattei的另一名作是1984年的《Rats Night of Terror》。

　　Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

Why for so many years, seemingly since it's release in 1933, this film vanished from the face of the earth. After seeing it, courtesy of the efforts of Mr. Wade Williams Co., I'm still puzzled, but I have a theory. In 1933, the code was enacted that pretty much took care of sex and violence in Hollywood. While not an explicit film by any means, Deluge does deal fairly frankly with sexuality, lust and rape. I wonder if RKO discovered they had a film that they could not re-release, much like the fabled lost Warner Bros. comedy Convention City. It's a shame for, while it is a dated film, I find it quite unique and surprising for it's era and a fairly successful attempt to create something different in an era when films were already becoming cookie cutter by-products of the studio machine (not that many of those cookies aren't tasty, mind you). And even though the only available copy at this writing is dubbed into Italian, I don't find that a hinderance. An excellent job was done in subtitling the film, and much of the film is visual anyway.

　　The history of Danish country church architecture is told by showing scenes of how the church was used by the congregation, beginning with the celebration of mass in a small and simple wooden church 800 years ago, and ending with the congregation singing in a village church of to-day. The development and the growth of the pattern of church architecture is shown.　　Dreyer in this film shows a series of churches from different periods with churchgoers in period clothing. Each period is separated by a shot of a church bell double-exposed on the sky. Although the film has a vibrant and instructive way of communicating the different epochs and styles to students, it does not exhibit the artistic quality that usually distinguishes a Dreyer film, except perhaps in some of the costumes, which were originally made for Day of Wrath.　　The board of Dansk Kulturfilm in autumn 1945 decided that their planned church film would exclusively be about village churches. Dreyer would rework the script that was written by editor and folk high-school principal Bernhard Jensen, aided by a committee of experts consisting of architect H. Lønborg-Jensen and Victor Hermansen, curator at the National Museum of Denmark. Dreyer had a first draft ready in mid-March, entitled Kirken er et gammelt Hus (The Church Is an Old House), which was distributed to the members of the committee for their comments.　　In the last half of July, Dreyer and Victor Hermansen travelled the country to look at suitable churches. They researched the details and at Dreyer’s request a number of technical changes were made to the churches, including the removal of porcelain holders for electrical wiring in Tveje Merløse Church.　　On 4 July, Dreyer went in advance to Ringkøbing. Shooting was set to start a few days later with the arrival of the director of photography, Preben Frank, who had fallen off a ladder and broken his leg, Fortunately, he was ready to cautiously start working again within a few days, with his leg in a cast.　　Otherwise, the production went without a glitch. Everywhere, Dreyer said, they were well received at the vicarages and they had no problem getting enough extras. On 1 august, they returned to Copenhagen with almost all their footage in the can. They only needed to film the church in Skelby, where the weather had been against them, plus a Swedish wooden church in Hedared. The economy was distressed so soon after the war, especially when it came to foreign currency, but there were no real wooden churches left in Denmark and building an interior set in the studio would be too expensive.　　The finished film was shown for the first time on 24 September 1947 to a small, closed circle, which included the Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs. In December 1947, as was Dansk Kulturfilm’s standard practice, the film was presented to the press, politicians and others on a programme with four other short films.

　　与Stefan Uher和Elo Havatta一样，Eduard Grecner也是60年代斯洛伐克新浪潮电影的缔造者之一。他的三部影片《一周七天》（1964）《尼绒月亮》（1965）和这部《徳拉克的回归》都是斯洛伐克新浪潮电影的代表作。这部叙事方法独特带有明显意识流风格的黑白影片甚至间接影响到了后来法国导演格里耶在捷克拍摄的两部影片《说谎的人》和《Eden and After》。　　A special place in the development of feature films is reserved for Eduard Grecner, the creator of just one good film, Dragon Returns (Drak sa vracia, 1967), titled after the nickname of the lead character. After his initial work with Uher, Grecner made his mark as a proponent of the so-called intellectual film, the antithesis of the sociologically, or rather, socially critical film. Grecner's great role model was Alan Resnais, a young French filmmaker who sought to introduce Slovakia to the idea of film as a labyrinth in which meanings are created not by stories, but by complex configurations of dialogue, shots, and various layers of time, thus differentiating film from both literature and theater. In Dragon Returns―the story of a solitary hero who is needed by villagers living far in the mountains, but who is rejected by them at the same time because of his detachment―Grecner brought the tradition of lyricized prose to life through a whole series of formal aesthetic techniques. Alain Robbe-Grillet immediately developed this idea in the film shot in Bratislava The Man Who Lies (Slovak Muz, ktory luze; French title L'homme qui ment; 1968), and perfected it in Eden and After (Eden a potom, 1970).
