《奥维尔号》是一部Mini太空喜剧，故事讲述300年后，一部并不是那么顶级的太空探索船奥维尔号跟随地球星际舰队的冒险旅程。　　《恶搞之家》主创Seth MacFarlane本人首次真人出演电视剧，他是奥维尔号的舰长Ed，而《神盾局特工》的Adrianne Palicki饰演他的前妻Kelly Grayson，阴差阳错成为奥维尔号的大副。
