　　故事发生在十七世纪的波兰。书亚（Mieczyslaw Voit 饰）是一名德高望重的神父，坚定的坚持着自己对主的信仰和理想。某一日，他被派往了一间修道院中工作，有传闻魔鬼偷偷潜入了这间修道院，在其中作祟。　　修道院的院长是一个名为乔安（卢茜娜·温尼斯卡 Lucyna Winnicka 饰）的女人，这个女人的身上散发出一股强大而又神秘的美丽，让众多的修女们为之疯狂。随着时间的推移，神父书亚发现魔鬼的力量实在是过去强大，仅凭他一人之力无法驾驭，于是向一个老法师寻求帮助。然而，最终，书亚亦没有能够拒绝魔鬼的诱惑，为了帮助乔安，他甚至犯下了杀人的罪孽。

A young student is murdered in a park by an unseen assailant during a heavy thunderstorm. The murderer makes his escape, but is identified by a number of people at the park exit. A sports presenter from a local TV channel, Alessandro Marchi, is quickly arrested, and despite protestations of innocence, is charged with the murder.　　Marchi calls his lawyer, who promises to have him released very soon, but when it comes to the trial the lawyers case is a weak one, full of holes, and Marchi is duly found guilty.　　All is not what it seems and it soon becomes apparent that the lawyer is having an affair with Marchi's wife and obviously does not have Marchi's best interests at heart…

　　Ethan is a young, shy and rather reserved designer who has suffered from insomnia for many years due to his terrible nightmares. Believing he has a personality disorder he decides to see a therapist to solve his problem, but it will be thanks to the help of his best friend and a medium that he will face a long journey, a journey that will lead him to discover that his nightmares hide a shocking truth, something darker and more sinister than he ever imagined.

　　The movie follows the original tale in a somewhat loose fashion, but manages to retain the majority of the images and action.　　A seminary student must survive three nights in prayer guarding the deceased witch maiden while she, along with an army of hellish demons, try to lure him out of his Holy Ring of Chalk.
